Spinwell is recruiting for a Business Intelligence Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE MANAGER
The Business Intelligence Manager will work collaboratively across the whole Council to lead delivery of a broad range of client and Partnership strategic objectives and outcomes.
Specifically, the post holder will lead and manage a coordinated multi skilled corporate service which delivers the following functions.
· Strategic, Management & performance information for directly delivered services
· Strategic, Gap analysis & contracts information for Commissioning
· Strategic, Joint analysis & performance information for and from strategic partnerships including Health and Wellbeing Boards, Community Safety Partnerships and multi-disciplinary, multi-agency work.
Working collaboratively with senior colleagues to support the wider delivery of all aspects of the work of the Council’s Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management Division
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE MANAGER
- Advanced theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of data and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge and understanding of leadership and management
- A thorough and advanced understanding of the environment in which local government operates including relevant legislative frameworks
- Advanced and in-depth knowledge of local authority data sets
- Advanced and in-depth knowledge of performance management and efficiency tools such as LEAN
- Advanced and In-depth knowledge of reporting and analytical tools
- Advanced Excel, database manipulation and reporting.
- Knowledge and experience of how to effect cultural and behavioural change.
- Detailed knowledge of management policies and procedures
- Detailed knowledge of the commissioning cycle, needs assessment and demand management and profiling.
- Maximises the value of working together, building support ‘behind the scenes’ for changes to delivery and providing focus and direction in delivering to joint outcomes.
- Shows a close interest in all the services that their service is designed to maintain
- Thinks creatively, offering original solutions outside of conventional expectations

- Background in statistical analysis, advanced Excel skills, experience of database manipulation and reporting, other skills such as SQL(Structured Query Language, VBA (Visual Basic for Application
- Proven ability to prepare meaningful and concise reports and presentations and to manage and participate in senior level meetings to achieve desired outcomes.
- Proven Ability to engage in positive dialogue to achieve desired outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience of successful service change and organisational development.
- Knowledge and experience of how to effect cultural and behavioural change.
- Knowledge and experience of leading wide ranging service change projects.
- Excellent business and service planning knowledge and experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in any relevant subject.
