About The Role

Role: GSE Reward Data Analyst
Contract Length: 3 months
Location: Hybrid/London, Bristol or Manchester – 2-3 days on site per week
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £525 per day
Security Clearance: BPSS

Spinwell is recruiting for a GSE Reward Data Analyst for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GSE REWARD DATA ANALYST

  • Remuneration modelling for development of suggested pay ranges for S&E staff under GSE reward framework
  • Cross profession benchmarking and analysis of skills / market shortage data
  • Providing expertise to support the data analysis of GSE skills, roles, and reward dataset
  • Analysis of people datasets which support the need for the framework (annual civil service employment survey dataset, civil service jobs recruitment dataset)
  • Private sector salary datasets from consultancy and wider benchmarking datasets / reports
  • Analysis of interaction Government Digital and Data profession and GSE job roles (‘Fuzzy matching’ conducted)
  • Scoping data sources to provide critical evidence to support reward framework, including locating sources of S&E benchmarking data and Civil Service people datasets
  • Supporting wider GSE team with priority data asks
  • Mentoring role to other colleagues on data techniques
  • Engaging and building knowledge of the GSE profession

You will also be required to undertake data visualisation, including:

  • Recruitment and retention data plots
  • Reward data plots
  • Comparisons private sector and GSE reward datasets
  • Sunburst diagram visualising data on 5,500+ individuals in S&E roles

You will be required to undertake data storytelling and interpretation such as:

  • Presenting data insights at senior board meetings and stakeholder forums
  • Interpreting remuneration insights to shape the second iteration reward framework

Finally you will communicate and engage with data providers/government departments including:

  • Collaboration with Government Digital and Data profession data analyst, and Government People Group benchmarking team.
  • Stakeholder engagement with 20+ departments and Arms Length Bodies (ALBs) to collate information on current S&E pay enhancements

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE GSE REWARD DATA ANALYST

  • Excellent data analysis and modelling skills
  • Experience in pay and reward analysis and/or reward frameworks
  • Experience in using workforce analytics and pay benchmarking
  • Coding and programming knowledge (Python/R)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analysis into compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences
