Pay Rate to Intermediary: £32 per hour
Spinwell is recruiting for a Subsidy Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUBSIDY OFFICER
- To ensure that benefit claims are being assessed accurately and paid correctly and in line with legislation and guidance.
- To assist in the completion of the Housing Benefit subsidy returns and claims including working with auditors
- To ensure that the subsidy position improves and income to the Council is maximised.
- To support the Training and Resilience team by identifying development needs of officers through Subsidy checking.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SUBSIDY OFFICER
- Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English
- Experience of working in a Revenues & Benefits environment
- Demonstrate the ability to take on board and understand complex legislation
- Experience of using ICT
- ICT skills including PC, Microsoft office
- Communicating and Influencing – Strong communication and negotiation skills and ability to communicate with all customers, partners, ability to make difficult decisions showing tact and diplomacy
- Analytical Thinking - Shows the ability to gather information in order to understand issues.
- Ability to self-motivate and work to high standards of accuracy, to achieve targets and deadlines
- Strong organisational and time management skills
