Spinwell is recruiting for a Stores Person for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STORES PERSON
To ensure the appropriate fleet related technical supplies and consumables are resourced in a timely and cost effective manner to minimise asset down time, whilst adhering to financial policy, procedures and audit requirements.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE STORES PERSON
- Demonstrable skills and knowledge obtained through significant practical experience in vehicle maintenance and storekeeping underpinned by structured off-the-job training.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a wide range of makes and types of vehicles, as well as of a wide range of previous, current and future vehicle components.
- Sound decision making skills - ability to make robust decisions based on technical knowledge (e.g. of vehicles, including stock holding, sources of supply and cost effective replacements).
- Good organiser – able to plan work and respond to the needs of the customers via email, fax, telephone and at the counter.
- Ability to review seasonally required items and ensure parts are available when needed across the two Forces without holding excessive stocks and incurring unnecessary costs.
- Ability to check inventory levels, monitor trends in demand and deal with internal requisitions; able to evaluate and access best sources of supply for a wide range of parts and interpret information provided by vehicle technicians seeking vehicle parts.
