Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid/Aldershot – 3 days/week on site
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate
Security Clearance: BPSS


Spinwell is recruiting for a Cadet Safeguarding Support Worker for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CADET SAFEGUARDING SUPPORT WORKER

  • Work in a child centred way – promoting the wellbeing and safeguarding of children, above other factors at all times.
  • Act as a point of contact for safeguarding disclosures, concerns, and referrals, providing advice and mentorship to others.
  • Liaise with external agencies and statutory authorities as needed, capturing and sharing sensitive information appropriately.
  • Review, Process and Update Online Safeguarding Casework Management System
  • Present a summary of new referrals in a daily triage meeting to collaboratively identify next steps.
  • Maintain full and accurate records.
  • Support the submission of referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service, Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scotland, or Access Northern Ireland
  • Provide administrative support to Case Workers, booking transport, arranging meetings, taking minutes etc
  • Participate substantially in regular supervision
  • Seek and engage with opportunities for professional development
  • Understand and abide by relevant data protection legislation and regulations, especially the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation, in relation to safeguarding casework.

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE CADET SAFEGUARDING SUPPORT WORKER

  • The ideal candidate will have experience of front-line child protection intervention and/or risk assessment of perpetrators of abuse.
  • They will also ideally have experience operating in a fast paced administrative role in organisations such as Children Services, NHS, Police or Youth Offending Teams.
