Role: HR Data Analyst
Contract Length: Until end of August, possibility of an extension.
Location: Hybrid/London - 2 days in the office
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £400 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a HR Data Analyst for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR DATA ANALYST

  • Data management
    • Understand the iTrent data in order to support the HR Data Team in the creation and maintenance of Business Object reports using iTrent data
    • Carry out ad-hoc queries using tools available where required to support work during parallel run period of Cyborg and iTrent.
    • Full competence in joining and matching of data so that maximum knowledge can be gained from data to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Building views and joining tables where necessary using the iTrent database (desirable)
  • Analysis of data and information
    • Helping build regular reports, audit and validation reports to support parallel running and go live of iTrent on a range of both people data and position/organisation structure data
    • Undertake reconciliation between existing Cyborg report and new iTrent reports to enable sign off of reports
    • Resolve any data issues identified during reconciliation
  • Management Information
    • Query and extract data using Business Objects skills.
    • Maintain data, queries and working files in orderly, consistent and agreed way so that work can be shared across the team.
    • Build reports using SSRS and PowerBi (desirable)
    • Check own work to ensure accuracy and work with the team to improve data quality.
    • Support HR Data Team in creating a full suite of reports needed for internal use and to support the wider organisation
  • Teamwork and knowledge
    • Work collaboratively with the HR Data Team, sharing knowledge about iTrent and its reporting to build skills in the team and support successful go live.
    • Work closely with colleagues in the HR Employee Lifecycle team to support any reporting requirements and queries about HR related data
  • Equalities and Health & Safety policies
    • To carry out the duties of the post in line with the Brigade’s Equalities and Health and Safety policies.
    • To undertake display screen equipment duties in accordance with Brigade policy and regulations governing their use.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE HR DATA ANALYST

  • Excellent skills in MS Office suite of products particularly Excel and Business Objects.
  • Experience of using and maintaining business intelligence tools
  • Experience using SQL to query large datasets and create reports that summarise and assist in the explanation and consumption of data. Proficiency of SQL and SSRS or similar analytics tools. (desirable)
  • Knowledge and ability to integrate analytics tools to provide a Business Intelligence environment (such as create and use Excel spreadsheets with SQL data connections and joined pivot tables). (Desirable)
  • Experience of working on iTrent data at an advanced level, particular y HR and Position Management/Org Structure data and to understand the relationship to Payroll data.
  • Ability to identify anomalies within data and resolve
  • Good numerical skills with the ability to interpret and present statistical data and excellent attention to detail.
  • Business Objects and Excel skills
  • SSRS and PowerBi skills (desirable)
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to work as part of a team, communicate ideas and convey complex analysis to non-statisticians.
  • Organisational skills in order to plan and prioritise workloads and deliver work and projects in a busy environment.
  • An awareness of equality issues and a commitment to ensuring appropriate policies are adhered to in the context of the duties and responsibilities of the post.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety legislation as it applies to the duties of the post, together with an awareness of safe use and transport of vehicles and goods.
  • An understanding of the need to maintain appropriate confidentiality and the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.
