Role: Specialist Provision Officer REF 1562370
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid/Ipswich – 2 days per week in the office
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £22 per hour

 

Spinwell is recruiting for a Specialist Provision Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SPECIALIST PROVISION OFFICER

To support the success of projects or the business as a whole with intelligence, infrastructure, planning, resources or information.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SPECIALIST PROVISION OFFICER

  • Suitable qualification at Level 4 or equivalent experience or evidence of skills in relevant area of work.
  • Knowledge of current children and young people’s disability services and structures available locally.
  • Experience or knowledge of special educational needs provision including alternative provision.
  • Understanding of the SEND reforms (2014) and Local Authority responsibilities in delivering the ‘Local Offer’
  • Recording information in minutes and/or reports
  • Experience of collaborative approaches through effective partnership working.
  • Experience of service improvement and continued quality assurance.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, set clear priorities and manage competing demands.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and legislation.
  • Suitable qualification at Level 4 or equivalent experience or evidence of skills in relevant area of work.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrates personal values and behaviours aligned to our corporate WE ASPIRE values.

  • Ability to use initiative within boundaries of the role.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages for business use.

  • Accurate keyboard skills for producing reports, correspondence, data entry etc.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, databases and systems.
  • Ability to identify and flag up problems when working with data and information and escalate appropriately.
  • Understanding of need to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to learn new IT or web-based packages and systems.
  • Ability to handle large and complex data sets and to identify and interpret trends in data and validate.
  • Planning skills for projects or for day-to-day business processes.
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to communicate information effectively with colleagues and across key professionals who work with young people.
  • Ability to make constructive contribution to meetings with a range of stakeholders, settings and contexts.
  • Sensitivity to disability, sexuality, gender and ethnicity issues.
  • Ability to keep accurate and timely records and data and compile reports in a variety of formats, using appropriate IT.
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in the delivery of training and support.
  • Build effective relationships.
  • Good level of literacy.
  • Experience of working with large amount of data.
  • Research skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the relevant service delivery requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance as appropriate to role.
