Spinwell is recruiting for an Out of Court Resolution Supervisor for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OUT OF COURT RESOLUTION SUPERVISOR

The principal responsibility of the Out of Court Resolution (OOCR) Supervisor is to support the staff and manager by providing additional operational oversight to ensure our systems, practice and processes are fit for purpose, can withstand scrutiny and deliver against our desired outcomes of reducing reoffending and harm.

In particular to:

  • Supervising a team of staff across the Force that are responsible for providing OoCR interventions. This will include supporting the Manager in development, performance management, recruitment, attendance management, management of leave requests, and internal and external stakeholder management.
  • To play a key role in developing the operational capacity of deferred caution to deliver meaningful interventions within a centralised administrative approach
  • To oversee and authorise the escalation of deferred caution cases to Keyworkers as and when appropriate on the basis of vulnerability and complexity of need
  • To respond to and advise Keyworkers on appropriate action around complex cases that require new approaches or crisis management in order to reduce harm and reoffending
  • Developing the knowledge and understanding of the wider referral partners for keyworkers to enhance the referral pathways
  • Undertaking case audits where possible to ensure proportionality and appropriateness of recording and interventions
  • To support the new staff in developing client- centred approaches and additional skills.
  • Undertaking dip sampling, case audits and staff training when required to ensure good practice and proportionality.
  • To undertake the Keyworker role, working directly with clients as part of both training and at periods where resourcing requires coverage.

This list of duties is not restrictive or exhaustive and the post-holder may be required to carry out duties from time to time that are either commensurate with/or lower than the grade of the post.  In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE OUT OF COURT RESOLUTION SUPERVISOR

  • Experience of Supervision to include support to develop staff, challenge underperformance and maximise their potential
  • Experience of dealing effectively with a wide range of people from a cross section of the community, in varying circumstances with minimal supervision
  • Good Communicator that can support the management of a remote team
  • Detailed knowledge of working with client centred approaches and holistic needs assessments that facilitate multi agency responses to offending, vulnerability and harm
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and what works in relation to desistence from crime
  • Experience as a Practitioner with people with complex needs/offenders that can support that can assess and develop good practice and interventions within the team
