Role: Senior Delivery Manager
Contract Length: 9 months

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £650 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Delivery Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR DELIVERY MANAGER

  • Deliver and manage a collection of multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment to the agreed goals and outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints. Design the project structure, set project controls, and provide effective leadership.
  • Work in partnership with both technical and security Cyber Uplift teams in ambiguous, complex and/or uncertain domains.
  • Lead, motivate, and help teams organise and plan their work to ensure the delivery of timely products and services to meet users’ needs.
  • Manage stakeholders to maintain strategic alignment and effective communication, taking into account organisational context and different needs and priorities, dealing constructively with conflicting views to continually improve effectiveness and cohesion.
  • Co-create and co-own project life cycle plans, using recognised lean or agile practices to communicate the status to senior colleagues and users appropriately. Provide useful and accurate delivery metrics to track impediments, risks or blockers, escalating where necessary; managing independencies and developing mitigating actions.
  • Identify and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships as appropriate, to facilitate an inclusive team environment where innovation and challenge are welcome; all needs are understood to influence strategic direction.
  • Manage the effective transition between project phases, set the appropriate delivery methodologies, develop budgets and track the delivery within budget, manage Cyber Uplift performance and report progress to sponsors.
  • Take responsibility for complex relationships with contracted suppliers, identifying contractual frameworks and negotiating to get good value from contracts. In some cases, managing commercial relationships with 3rd party suppliers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR DELIVERY MANAGER

  • Ability to apply structured approaches to project plans, involving scope, time, and cost objectives. Recognise that ambiguity is often inevitable and a normal part of work.
  • Knowledge of stakeholder analysis, relationship management, needs assessment, conflict and expectation management, engaging with government bodies and communities.
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and subcontractors, whilst monitoring contract performance using KPIs, SLAs, and MoUs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra, Defender, and Active Directory, cyber security threats and vulnerabilities, including Cloud Security solutions.
  • Ability to communicate potential risks and current issues to stakeholders, using data to assess the impact and root cause to develop solutions, and decide on the best course of action to mitigate risks or resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of agile practices to ensure the iterative and timely delivery of products and services that serve real user needs. Leading high functioning multidisciplinary teams to deliver against the organisation’s strategic priorities and the needs of stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact with a broad range of people with different levels of technical skill, facilitate workshops that give a voice to all participants, and provide concrete outputs that enable delivery.
  • Knowledge of guiding teams through the implementation of a new process, working collaboratively to deliver projects, writing actionable cyber security advice that is current and relevant, and using user feedback to make continuous improvements.
  • Project Management Qualification: PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Project Management, PMI Project Management, Leading and Managing Project Workstream, or Agile Project Management.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), ISO 27001, or a Practitioner in Planning, Working with Ambiguity, Stakeholder Engagement, Contract Management, Risk and Issue Management, or any related change management discipline.
