Spinwell is recruiting for an Exhibit and Disclosure Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXHIBIT AND DISCLOSURE OFFICER
To proactively assist in the investigation of homicide and other major crime offences in the dual role of Exhibits & Disclosure Officer within Specialist Crime. Both roles are crucial to the success of those investigations and the subsequent perception of the Force’s ability to achieve justice for victims of crime.
It involves advising the Senior Investigating Officer on all matters relating to disclosure and provides impartiality and safeguarding as well as ensuring compliance with the numerous statutory requirements surrounding disclosure and data protection.
It is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of exhibits within a major investigation which is essential.
The Exhibits & Disclosure Officer will interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders including SIOs, detectives, CPS, assorted experts and other departments within Staffordshire Police and is responsible for commissioning expert witnesses and complying with the HTA.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE EXHIBIT AND DISCLOSURE OFFICER
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with a proven ability to adapt your written and oral communication style to a diverse range of customers at all levels internally and externally.
- Experience in collation of exhibits
- Takes responsibility for maintaining very high standards of professional conduct and compliance delivering high-quality results, even in challenging circumstances
- Ability to manage an extensive and complex workload with conflicting and changing demands, priorities and deadlines with a high level of autonomy and flexibility and mitigate known risks to delivery.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and development seeking opportunities for self-improvement.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, tact and diplomacy with the ability to deal with sensitive information in various situations displaying empathy and understanding towards victims and witnesses, carrying out duties with compassion, dignity and impartiality.
- Ability to digest voluminous and technical material and produce detailed and concise reports and summaries to a very high level of accuracy.

- Maintains a professional and ethical approach at all times, respecting diversity and promoting equality.
- High level of computer literacy and competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
- Must possess a full UK driving licence.
