Spinwell is recruiting for a Private Rented Sector Offer Project Team Lead for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRIVATE RENTED SECTOR OFFER PROJECT TEAM LEAD
- Sourcing and procuring a strong pipeline of PRS properties for households to discharge the Councils full housing duty by a “private rented sector offer” PRSO and reduce temporary accommodation numbers
- Ensure the new PRSO Lettings Plus team is fully developed, and new processes, procedures are put in place for PRSO discharge, full training and awareness is delivered across the teams within housing options service areas
- Build strong links with the front door triage team to ensure preventative measures are working with customers eligible for PRSO including being involved in the implications of the new Renters Rights coming into place in May 2026
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with landlords, letting agents, and property partners to build a portfolio of property
- Ensure the team is matching and referring suitable tenants, supporting successful and sustainable tenancies
- Ensure the team is managing tenancy paperwork and compliance, including agreements and statutory requirements are fulfilled
- Work closely and build relationships with internal teams (Housing Benefit, Environmental Health, etc.) to ensure smooth tenancy management functions
- Ensure Housing property inspections are carried out by PSH for ready to let property to match to our customers awaiting housing
- Ensuring compliance with housing legislation and contractual obligations are followed.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PRIVATE RENTED SECTOR OFFER PROJECT TEAM LEAD
- Strong experience and knowledge in lettings, property management or housing procurement with a track record of working with private landlords
- Strong knowledge of the private rent sector and tenancy legislation
- Great housing relationship building skills and a bonus would be to have established contacts within the Northampton district and able to hit the ground running in building a strong supply of PRS property
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle able to attend meetings within Northampton.
