Spinwell is recruiting for a Commercial Strategic Lead for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL STRATEGIC LEAD
This is a critical senior leadership role required to ensure the effective and assured delivery of services of FM Services to our US Visiting Forces (USVF) partners within the UK and the UK bases overseas (inc. but not limited to Cyprus, Gibraltar, the South Atlantic Islands). The post holder will need significant hands on commercial experience within the FM Category both procuring and implementing effective FM Contracts across a significant portfolio.
In the first instance the postholder will lead a dedicated team supporting Regional Delivery (RD) to deliver USVF Facilities Management and billable works across all UK USVF sites. This includes accountability for the procurement and delivery of two Category A FM programmes (which will commence imminently) and over 80 minor construction projects delivered via the SCAPE framework.
The role provides single-point senior ownership of the commercial vehicles underpinning FM delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved efficiently, compliantly, and in line with policy and best practice. It will provide authoritative commercial leadership, expert advice, and strategic direction across complex, high-value programmes.
In addition to this the post holder will be expected to support the development and implementation of a pipeline across the portfolio, and improved contract performance reporting mechanisms.
The individual will lead a team, building their confidence and commercial capability to drive performance and manage setbacks. Provide both decisive and educated leadership, facilitating the engagement and effectiveness of the commercial team. Successfully engage, lead, coach and inspire the team to reinforce the leadership values. Deliver all required line management activities to ensure the team deliver their objectives.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMERCIAL STRATEGIC LEAD
- Minimum CIPS Level 4
- Hands on experience, providing genuine insight and leadership
- Public or private sector background
- Creating a new team so leadership capabilities and change management skills important
- Good reporting and data experience would be beneficial
