Role: Team Leader/Ops Support Manager
Contract Length: Approximately 6 months
Location: Bournemouth
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £22.14 per hour

 

Spinwell is recruiting for a Team Leader/Ops Support Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEAM LEADER/OPS SUPPORT MANAGER

  • To lead on the day to day operations of temporary staffing booking service Medical and General Bank
  • To work with the service leads to ensure that the booking system are fully functional, accurate, and accessible by workers and line managers/administrators.
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of the teams KPI’s. Put appropriate mechanisms in place to measure and manage performance against these.
  • Provide advice and guidance to departments on use of temporary staffing and agency.
  • Ensure effective credible communication, negotiation and influencing skills to enable effective change management with stakeholders at all levels (including senior management) who may hold differing and contentious views.
  • Support the team to ensure they engage effectively with all bank workers ensuring they receive an annual appraisal.
  • To manage the day to day operations of temporary staffing booking service for Admin and Clerical, Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Science, Support Services and Junior Doctors.
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of the teams KPI’s. Put appropriate mechanisms in place to measure and manage performance against these.
  • To act as an expert resource ensuring that the local agendas are in line with National requirements, recommending changes as required.
  • To provide complex advice on agency and staffing usage using knowledge of employment status legislation, procurement frameworks and HMRC legislation/guidance.
  • To work with the service leads to ensure that the booking system are fully functional, accurate, and accessible by workers and line managers/administrators.
  • To support the Trust in achieving its agency expenditure target by driving the migration of staff from agency to bank, and bank to substantive contracts.
  • To proactively work with service leads HR/Procurement /Finance colleagues to maximise the use of the temporary staffing service, reduce the Trust’s agency expenditure, and ensure value for money.
  • To work with the Temporary Staffing colleagues to produce key data on agency spending, and contribute to accurate and timely submission of weekly NHSE1 reporting.

 

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE TEAM LEADER/OPS SUPPORT MANAGER

  • Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience in business support.
  • Further training and experience to post graduate diploma level equivalent or willingness to undertake
  • Experience of service and quality improvement within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in staff deployment in private or public sector and managing complex projects.
  • Experience of line management and supervision of staff.
  • Senior operational experience
  • Evidence of successful leadership and engagement of service users to introduce change.
  • Experience of analysing large data fields, and collating information for presentation.
  • Independent thinker with demonstrated good judgement, problem solving and analytical skills
  • High level of computer skills proficient in use of Microsoft packages
  • Ability to work on own initiative and organize own workload without supervision working to tight and often changing timescales
  • Attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex analysis.
  • Good understanding and application of employment law.
  • Takes decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of action.
  • Able to develop and implement policy, guidelines and projects from initiation to completion.
  • Excellent extensive working knowledge of current temporary staffing issues in the NHS and government priorities
