Spinwell is recruiting for an Offender Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OFFENDER MANAGER
- Manage high-risk asylum seekers accommodated by the client and report to a team of SEO Multi Agency Regional Risk leads.
- You will act as a critical link between asylum claimants and statutory organisations that have the legal responsibility and powers to manage risk. This role does not duplicate the functions of Police or other enforcement bodies but instead provides assurance through effective escalation and collaborative risk management with partners.
- You will support Asylum Operations objectives by promoting compliance, reducing reoffending, and progressing cases toward resolution. Reducing harm from and between service users, staff & the public. Assessing & addressing risks to public safety across the asylum estate.
- You will gather, analyse and assess information, managing threat, harm and risk and working with other agencies and specialist teams within a Public Protection/Offender Management environment.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE OFFENDER MANAGER
- Recent and in-depth experience managing high-risk offenders, ideally within an asylum or criminal justice setting.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and offender management frameworks.
- Proven ability to work effectively within MAPPA and other multi-agency environments.
- Experience delivering tailored interventions and rehabilitation plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex cases.
- Ability to work independently, remotely, and under pressure.
- High level of integrity and commitment to public service values
- Desirable skills and experience:
- Knowledge of asylum processes and immigration legislation.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those with mental health needs.
- Candidates must be willing to undertake client Personal safety training once they are in post – it’s a 2 day course.
