About The Role

Role: Support Worker REF 101028
Contract Length: 1 year, possible extension
Location: Mainly remote – may need to accompany on train journeys for CPD days/team days/essential meetings. Overnight stays may be required. Colleague lives in Skipton, North East, so preference of close by/ability to travel here.
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £165 per day
Security Clearance: BPSS

Spinwell is recruiting for a Support Worker for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUPPORT WORKER

  • To assist a blind employee in the legal department
  • To enable colleague to have the support he needs to do his job.
  • Using teams – Attending meetings to support navigating through documents with colleague, request control of his screen through Microsoft Teams to carry out certain requirements which could include opening new files in our case manage system, logging colleagues time recording and submitting his annual leave requests.
  • He has screen reading software, JAWS – certain functions this doesn’t work well in – PDF, internet forms, excel.
  • Need to convert PDF to Word for example – make sure the conversion has worked & has worked accurately, pull the info. Legal advice is predicated upon these documents so really important;
  • Prepare comparison documents and guide colleague through the agreements;
  • Proof reading;
  • Formatting of certain comms – advice notes, emails, contract drafting.
  • Understand the confidential nature of the work we advise on
  • Anything ad-hoc required for him to perform in his role
