Spinwell is recruiting for a Web & Content Project Lead for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WEB & CONTENT PROJECT LEAD
Delivery and Project Leadership
• Lead and deliver priority content redesign and migration activity for the LocalGov Drupal website
• Drive progress against a content backlog, aligned to programme milestones and launch plans
• Work closely with programme and delivery leads to identify and unblock content dependencies
• Operate effectively in an agile / iterative delivery environment, supporting rapid testing and refinement
Content Strategy and Approach
• Define and evolve a pragmatic content strategy aligned to programme timelines and constraints
• Lead the implementation of a structured content model suitable for LocalGov Drupal
• Balance speed and quality, making clear, evidence-based decisions on where to invest effort
AI and Content Transformation
• Contribute to and shape the AI-assisted content approach, ensuring outputs are usable and appropriate
• Define quality thresholds and review processes for AI-generated or AI-assisted content
• Work alongside human content editors to refine, improve and assure priority content
Content Migration and Quality Assurance
• Own the content migration approach, including audit, prioritisation and acceptance criteria
• Ensure content is:
o Accurate and consistent
o Accessible and compliant
o Written in a clear, user-centred style aligned to GDS principles
• Act as the final point of quality assurance for key content areas
Stakeholder and Supplier Management
• Work closely with Big Blue Door to align content design with platform delivery
• Collaborate with services, communications and digital teams to translate policy and service needs into usable content
• Influence stakeholders to prioritise and simplify content where needed
Governance and Standards
• Establish lightweight, practical content governance appropriate for a fast-moving programme
• Define content standards, templates and guidance to ensure consistency
• Support content ownership and lifecycle management across services
Capability and Support
• Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to colleagues contributing content
• Support a blended model of AI, contractor and internal resource to deliver content at scale
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE WEB & CONTENT PROJECT LEAD
• Significant experience delivering content design or content strategy in complex organisations
• Proven experience of large-scale website content migration or redesign, ideally LocalGov Drupal
• Experience working in fast-paced digital or transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of user-centred content design and accessibility
• Practical experience of content modelling and structured content
• Ability to balance speed and quality in delivery environments
• Excellent written communication, with the ability to simplify complex information
• Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and suppliers
