Spinwell is recruiting for a Business Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS MANAGER
- Managing the flow of work through the Directors office to their leadership team and to the wider organisation. Maintaining plans, reviewing and prioritising incoming correspondence and actioning tasks and requests.
- Co-ordinating Programme-wide responses to feed into larger returns ensuring commissioned material is received on time and is of good quality. Identifying requirements, sources and gaps, minimising the direct impact on delivery teams.
- Maintain an overview of risk, opportunity and both programme and business plan performance of directorate.
- Developing and overseeing the Director’s meetings and engagements, organising logistics, ensuring materials are commissioned, produced and provided to support meetings/events. Ensure accurate notes are kept and actions are tracked and shared and monitored. Particular focus on admin will be needed for all secure meetings.
- Providing professional, timely and effective day to day management of inbox; identifying issues as they arise and ensuring they are efficiently dealt with.
- Utilise all available collaboration/AI tools to ensure seamless information exchange, joining up business units and facilitating rapid, clear communication throughout the MDC enterprise and with all the Agencies/departments we are part of.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships across the client Directorates, MDC Ministerial sponsors private offices, Sponsors (Government Security Group, National Security Secretariat, Office of Government Property, and Digital/Data profession) and all the departments involved.
- Manage admin systems including expense processing and raising purchase orders.
- Maintain a gifts and hospitality register on behalf of the Director and DD ensuring this feeds into the central register.
- Line management of Executive Officers may be applicable.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE BUSINESS MANAGER
- Previous experience working in a private office, ideally supporting a Director
- Programme management skills and an understanding of programme management principles would be helpful.
- Stakeholder management skills are very important
- Working upwards and across the client
- Must be confident and able to challenge.
