Spinwell is recruiting for an Information Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INFORMATION OFFICER
The post holder, under the supervision of the Senior Information Officer, will load information requests including SARs, FOIs providing thorough robust scrutiny and analysis of information held on a range of IT systems to provide timely and proportionate information for managers, external forums and partner agencies. The post plays a key role in supporting the efficient running of the service and in contributing to the overall effectiveness of information sharing for the wellbeing of children and families in Hackney.
The post holder will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong capacity to work in a pressurised and busy environment to achieve deadlines.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE INFORMATION OFFICER
- Working in an administrative or business support role
- Working in a busy environment, managing multiple priorities
- Experience with processing Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests is desirable.
- Working within a Children’s Services environment is desirable
- A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at enhanced level is required.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues, foster carers, children and families and other professionals both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, foster carers, children and families and other professionals.
- Proficient in Digital Technology: Demonstrated proficiency in using a range of ICT packages (for example Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and other relevant case recording systems and software applications.
- Organised and efficient: Manage time effectively, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Attention to detail: Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Proficient writing skills: Ability to produce high quality work in a variety of formats and minute taking styles. Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information
- Team player: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
- Customer service focus: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients including professionals, foster carers and children and families.
