Role: Occupational Health Advisor
Contract Length: 6 month fixed term contract
Location: Hybrid/London - Initial training is likely to take place in Victoria, after which there is flexibility to work remotely whilst attending the office when required.
Pay Rate: £50,281 per annum + £4,598 Market Supplement + £4,613 London Allowance (pro-rata for 6 months)
Spinwell is recruiting for an Occupational Health Advisor for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH ADVISOR
- Work across client medical centres, divisional sites or remotely to deliver case management, health assessment and health surveillance activities and using evidence-based knowledge, interpret results in order to provide expert opinion on fitness for work and where necessary, identifying recommendations and adjustments taking into account organisational capability, medical standards and relevant legislation.
- Provide expert advice; on an individual or group basis such as at sickness absence meetings by providing impartial, professional and expert occupational health advice and guidance to managers and employees in relation to fitness for work/tasks, sickness absence, workplace and environment risk assessment.
- Advise and educate managers in meeting their responsibilities in respect of employee health and wellbeing through attendance at sub-divisional Health and Safety meetings.
- Represent client at relevant specialist networks and groups such as the College of Policing, police occupational health practitioner network, Occupational Health Nurse Advisors to the Police Service (OHNAPS) and to undertake and participate in network learning and information sharing to improve performance related clinical process and activities.
- Regularly attend client locations as required. There will also be an opportunity for some remote working.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH ADVISOR
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health
- Strong Occupational Health Advisor experience
- Case management experience
- Fitness for work assessments
- Health surveillance experience
- Medical assessment experience
- Ability to provide fitness-for-work advice and workplace adjustments
- Experience managing confidential and complex medical information
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Able to start within a reasonable timeframe
- Able to travel to the Victoria office when required
