Role: Head of Elective Access
Contract Length: 3-6 months
Location: Hybrid/Lincoln – minimum of 3 days per week on site
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £53.29 per hour
Spinwell is recruiting for a Head of Elective Access for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAD OF ELECTIVE ACCESS
To work with the Divisional Management Teams, Corporate Teams, and the Trust Executive to support and deliver the strategic development and operational management of access targets, including Cancer, 18 weeks, diagnostics, Elective Planned, non-18 weeks and Cancelled Operations.
This includes ensuring appropriate policies are in place and performance management mechanisms deliver, monitor and report compliance against national waiting time targets.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE HEAD OF ELECTIVE ACCESS
- Educated to Master’s degree or equivalent
- Relevant Post Graduate Qualification
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Management qualification or equivalent knowledge
- Extensive NHS Senior Management experience in an Acute hospital.
- Detailed understanding and experience of the operation of Acute hospital services knowledge of performance management.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of NHS access standards including RTT, cancer and diagnostics
- Evidence of driving and supporting change in clinical services in a complex organisation.
- Proven ability to manage resources effectively.
- Performance management and development of staff.
- Well-developed leadership and motivational skills.
- Capacity to operate and think laterally at strategic and operational level.
- Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills.
- Evidence of personal insight and sound judgement.
- Innovative and responsive to change.
- Capacity to work in multi-professional environments and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels and disciplines.
- Proven track record of collaborative working with Senior Clinicians and Senior Managers.
