Spinwell is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER
- Perform self-directed Test; Diagnostics; Repair; Maintenance; Modification; Calibration and Manufacture of Equipment down to module / individual Component level using approved Engineering Documentation and techniques.
- Hold Self-Certification; Over-Signing; Certifying & Conditioning of Equipment Responsibilities (for example: Serviceable / Unserviceable / Scrap).
- Supervision; Training and Over-Signing of Junior / Equivalent grade Staff & Apprentices.
- Carry out Feasibility and Development activity, including the Reverse Engineering and Creation of supporting engineering documentation / Test Procedures.
- Use a combination of different IT software.
- Provide Specialist Advice as required.
- Work within a scheme of Engineering Governance and comply with all policy and legislation.

- Previous experience in schedule maintenance and repair.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, repair and fault-finding, ideally within a heavy engineering, Defence, aerospace or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) environment.
- Level 3 or Level 4 engineering qualification, with a recognised engineering apprentice-ship/advanced or higher apprenticeship, or demonstrable equivalent engineering experience.
- Eligible for Engineering Technician (EngTech) professional registration in accordance with UK-SPEC.
- Hands-on experience carrying out testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification and calibration of mechanical equipment down to module/component level.
- Ability to interpret and work from approved engineering documentation, ASI/OEM data and technical procedures, while working within engineering governance, safety and client standards.
