Spinwell is recruiting for a Case Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CASE OFFICER 
Effectively use digital systems and case management platforms to build, update, and manage case files, ensuring accurate data entry, secure handling of information, and compliance with force procedures and national file building standards.
Adopt a victim focused approach to all investigations, ensuring full compliance with responsibilities outlined in the Victims’ Code of Practice (VCOP) and the Victims’ Charter. This includes supporting the provision of timely updates, supporting victims’ rights, and ensuring their needs and entitlements are considered throughout the justice process.
Prepare and submit initial court files to the Crown Prosecution Service, ensuring compliance with evidential and administrative standard, including verifying the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all documentation, exhibits, and case summaries prior to submission. 
Complete and submit required file upgrades for trial, incorporating further evidence, statements, and procedural updates in line with the prescribed timescales to support efficient case progression and effective court readiness.
In collaboration with the investigating officer, obtain evidence required as part of a post-charge action plan, ensuring all tasks directed by the Crown Prosecution Service are completed accurately and within specified timescales; including being the monitoring officer for video recorded interviews when suitably trained.
Request, obtain, and review material from third party organisations, ensuring relevancy and accurate and proportionate use in case files.
Liaise with other police forces and external agencies to coordinate effective gathering of evidence, ensuring clear communication and timely information sharing to support ongoing investigations.
Monitor the continuity of evidence and exhibits in accordance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and force procedures.
Understand and uphold the force’s obligations under the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA), acting as Disclosure Officer where required. This includes correctly identifying, recording, scheduling, and classifying all unused material, ensuring it is managed in line with CPIA principles to support effective case progression.
Build a strong rapport and effective working relationship with Evidence Review Officers, ensuring open communication, collaborative problem solving, and smooth progression of case files through the review process.
Attend court to provide support to the officer in the case or the Crown Prosecutor, conducting any enquiries directed by the court, and offering additional assistance as required to ensure effective case progression.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE CASE OFFICER
Full UK driving licence / ability to drive in UK either on UK licence or other nationality licences
Previous experience of providing a high-quality administration service
Previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages, i.e. Word, Excel and competent in the use of IT packages
Demonstrates lateral vision and a logical process for solving problems 
Communicates effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon
Able to demonstrate the values and behaviours outlined in the Force values.
Demonstrates the ability to develop strong working relationships both inside Lincolnshire Police and within the wider community
Able to demonstrate the values and behaviours outlined in the Force values.
Demonstrates an understanding of data protection issues
