Spinwell is recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert (Business Systems Improvement Team) for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (BUSINESS SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENT TEAM)
The principal responsibility of the Subject Matter Expert (BSIT) is to act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the Business Systems Improvement Team (BSIT) to support users with system queries as well as working with the business to maintain, develop and improve the systems as required to meet business need. This will include responsibility for scoping, designing and testing continuous improvements and developments in consultation with stakeholders. As an SME the post holder will work as a key advisor into the business on usage and development of Niche and Pronto, providing a strategic focus on the priorities across both Forces.
The role holder will be required to undertake some technical configuration of the systems in agreement with ICT. Alongside this, they will need to have significant knowledge of areas of business directly impacted by the RMS system.
In particular to:
- Providing day to day business support including identifying and resolving system errors and faults, responding to user queries, and supporting other work and wider projects
- Scoping user requirements for business improvements and developments
- Developing solutions and system changes to meet business requirements
- Working with 3rd party suppliers to develop solutions and improvements
- Undertaking complex testing of developments and systems upgrade regression, technical changes and functionality testing
- Providing specialist advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders across the organisation
- Co-ordination and facilitation of user groups through effective two-way engagement, adopting a proactive approach to documenting and prioritising requirements.
This list of duties is not restrictive or exhaustive and the post-holder may be required to carry out duties from time to time that are either commensurate with/or lower than the grade of the post. In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (BUSINESS SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENT TEAM)
- Degree level or equivalent relevant work-based experience.
- Extensive operational and technical knowledge of Niche and Pronto operational systems and/or similar/equivalent operational system development and experience
- Operational knowledge of business areas directly impacted by RMS (Crime, Intel, Safeguarding, Custody etc).
- Proven negotiating skills with the ability to influence and persuade using evidence and building relationships to establish a professional relationship
- Demonstrable evaluation and analytical skills
- Demonstrable communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to draft accurate detailed reports
- Proven team working ability to deliver cross disciplinary outcomes
