Role: Commercial Manager
Contract Length: Until 18/12/26
Location: Hybrid/Southwark - 50% hybrid working arrangement

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £420 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a Commercial Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL MANAGER
A typical day could include:
- Acting as the key commercial interface between Procurement & Commercial and business stakeholders.
- Managing multiple sourcing and procurement projects simultaneously.
- Developing and leading sourcing strategies.
- Running tender exercises and single-source procurements.
- Managing supplier negotiations, including pricing, commercial terms and conditions.
- Drafting contracts and supporting contract template development.
- Delivering value for money through benchmarking, cost analysis and commercial recommendations.
- Managing procurement governance and approval processes.
- Maintaining sourcing pipelines and ensuring procurement data is accurate and up to date.
- Supporting colleagues and sharing commercial best practice across the wider team.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMERCIAL MANAGER
Procurement and Sourcing Expertise
- Proven experience managing end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities.
- Strong understanding of tendering processes and procurement governance.
Commercial Negotiation
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts, rates, terms and conditions.
- Ability to secure commercial value and manage spend effectively
Stakeholder Management
- Ability to build strong relationships across business functions.
- Experience working autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within a public sector environment.
- Knowledge of Ariba, SAP and procurement governance processes.
- Experience within rolling stock, rail, transport, aerospace or similar engineering sectors.
- Experience drafting and developing contracts
Qualifications
- CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant procurement, commercial or sourcing experience is considered more important than formal qualifications
