Spinwell is recruiting for an Assistant Employee Relations Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT EMPLOYEE RELATIONS OFFICER
The Employee Relations team develop HR policies and procedures that will benefit Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police and align terms and conditions of employment. We are looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about making a difference and can contribute to our inclusive culture by joining us as an Assistant Employee Relations Officer. The role will entail the:
- provision of general administrative support, including responding to queries, co-ordinating meetings, drafting notes for circulation and the effective maintenance of ER records, as well as liaison and negotiation with stakeholders and internal departments to achieve departmental workload,
- provision of a range of employment support for the HR remit, including creating/updating ER practices and intranet information, and incorporating additions / revisions to documentation,
- collation of data and equality monitoring,
- undertaking of enquiries and HR research to support the team in delivering projects and workload,
- maintenance of an ER departmental plan that identifies the programme of work, actions, and relevant timescales, producing reports, as required,
- completion of other ad hoc tasks, as required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSISTANT EMPLOYEE RELATIONS OFFICER
- Previous experience in an HR environment involving the provision of support to managers and supervisors in relation to people management issues.
- Effective communication skills in order to give customer focussed guidance in a clear concise and direct manner.
- Ability to work on own initiative, multi task and to support others in managing theirs.
- The proven ability to display resilience and be assertive as required when dealing with challenging circumstances.
- Sound administrative and computer skills, and experience in using software packages including spreadsheets and word processing
