Spinwell is recruiting for an Material Support Operative - Disposals Operator for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MATERIAL SUPPORT OPERATIVE - DISPOSALS OPERATOR

Safely, efficiently, and compliantly move obsolete equipment from workshops, stores, labs, and other operational areas to the identified waste streams (e.g., metal, WEEE, hazardous, confidential destruction), ensuring accurate identification, segregation, documentation, and transfer in line with policy, requirements, and site procedures.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE MATERIAL SUPPORT OPERATIVE - DISPOSALS OPERATOR

• Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, facilities, or engineering support environment involving manual handling and material movements.
• Working knowledge of safe lifting/handling and use of MHE (e.g., pallet trucks, trolleys; forklift licence desirable).
• Ability to read and follow pick/move lists, SOPs, and risk assessments; strong attention to detail for segregation and labelling.
• Basic IT literacy (email, spreadsheets/data entry). Familiarity with NEXUS LN/MJDI/JAMES advantageous (training will be provided).
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach with workshops, stores, and governance teams.

• Basic secondary education
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office.
• Working experience in Logistics.
• Current accredited FLT/MHE licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, AITT or equivalent), valid throughout the period of hire.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting and carrying (within safe limits and using aids).
• Regular use of PPE (e.g., safety boots, gloves, hi-vis; task-specific protection).
• Use of MHE (pallet trucks/trolleys; potential forklift if licensed).
• Ability to know when decisions need to be sanctioned by the Material Support Lead.
