Spinwell is recruiting for a Business Analyst for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS ANALYST
- Current-state (AS-IS) analysis – detailed assessment of existing IAM processes, systems (including Ideiio), and pain points across client.
- Future-state (TO-BE) process designs – defined and optimised workflows for identity governance, lifecycle management, and access control aligned to Zero Trust principles.
- Requirements documentation – clear, prioritised functional and non-functional requirements (including user stories and acceptance criteria) for the new IAM solution.
- Stakeholder and user needs analysis – consolidated view of business, security, and technical needs across councils and user groups.
- Data and role modelling outputs – definition of roles, access profiles, and identity data structures to support role-based access and governance.
- Business case inputs and supporting artefacts – contributions to the full business case, including benefits, process improvements, and impact assessments.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE BUSINESS ANALYST
Applicants must have substantial Business Analysis experience gained across multiple IAM projects, experience of large-scale IGA projects with multiple customers, and be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Requirements elicitation and analysis – ability to gather, define, and prioritise complex IAM, security, and business requirements across multiple client councils.
- Business process mapping and optimisation – expertise in analysing current identity and access processes, identifying inefficiencies, and designing improved future-state workflows.
- Stakeholder engagement and facilitation – strong skills in working with technical teams, security specialists, and business users to build consensus and shared understanding.
- Understanding of IAM and security concepts – working knowledge of identity governance, lifecycle management, access controls, and Zero Trust principles to inform analysis.
- Data analysis and modelling – capability to assess identity data, roles, and access patterns, supporting role-based access design and governance improvements.
- Translation and documentation – ability to produce clear, structured artefacts (requirements, user stories, process maps) that bridge business needs and technical delivery.
