Spinwell is recruiting for an Automotive Technician for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN
To prepare, maintain and service Force vehicles and equipment in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legislation.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN
- A minimum of 3 years light vehicles diagnosis and repair experience with at least 2 years as a fully skilled autotechnician.
- Trained to a minimum Modern Apprenticeship NVQ level 3 in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies or equivalent.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all aspects of fleet servicing and repairs e.g. vehicle wiring, changing and balancing tyres, vehicle diagnostics and engine repair.
- Experience of vehicle electrics and use of current computerised diagnostic equipment (desirable).
- Registered in the Department of Transport’s list of approved vehicle testers (MOT) (desirable).
- Experience using computerised workshop information and management systems (desirable).
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels, with tri-service partners and other external agencies such as manufacturers, suppliers and other Forces
