About the Role
Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Delivery Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety service area within Prisons Digital is mobilising two managed-service suppliers to deliver separate but connected work packages. We are looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to provide senior delivery oversight during this six-month mobilisation and establishment period. The role will coordinate delivery plans, dependencies, risks, resourcing and spend across both suppliers, ensuring delivery remains aligned to agreed priorities and outcomes. The post holder will establish and embed effective delivery governance, reporting, supplier coordination and ways of working; provide clear escalation and support the timely resolution of blockers; and build strong integration between supplier teams and colleagues. A key outcome will be the transfer of knowledge and sustainable delivery arrangements to the appropriate internal and/or managed-service delivery capability at the end of the engagement
Essential Skills and Experience
- Significant experience leading complex digital delivery at Senior Delivery Manager level, ideally in a multi-supplier or managed-service environment.
- Proven ability to mobilise delivery arrangements quickly and establish proportionate governance, reporting, controls and ways of working.
- Strong supplier management and coordination skills, with experience aligning multiple organisations around shared priorities, outcomes and delivery plans.
- Demonstrable experience managing cross-team dependencies, risks, issues, blockers, resourcing and delivery spend, with timely escalation where required.
- Ability to provide clear, concise and evidence-based reporting to senior stakeholders, creating visibility of progress, constraints, decisions and financial position.
- Strong leadership, facilitation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to create effective collaboration between supplier teams and civil service colleagues.
- Sound judgement in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, balancing pace, delivery assurance and proportionate control.
- Experience of knowledge transfer, capability handover and embedding sustainable delivery practices before exiting a time-limited engagement.
- A strong understanding of agile and user-centred digital delivery, with the ability to adapt methods to the context rather than apply process mechanically.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience of working in government or another complex, regulated organisation is desirable.
