Pay Rate to Intermediary: £26.84 per hour
Spinwell is recruiting for a Scrutiny & Policy Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SCRUTINY & POLICY OFFICER
- To advise the Police and Crime Commissioner on matters relating to planning, performance and policing policy
- To advise the Police and Crime Commissioner and manage obligations under equality legislation
- To manage consultation and engagement with the general public and public individuals and bodies
- To manage the Police and Crime Commissioner’s response to inspection reports from HMIC and other external agencies
- To manage the Police and Crime Commissioner’s process for preparing and monitoring statutory plans.
- To provide effective liaison between the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Force, relevant Partnerships, Staff Associations and other organisations on which the Police and Crime Commissioner is represented.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SCRUTINY & POLICY OFFICER
- An excellent knowledge of / experience of working within Policing and/or OPCC – As this is a 12 month maternity leave cover this is essential.
- Analytical and critical thinking – Ability to research and assess complex data and the ability to interpret concisely within set deadlines.
- Communication and report writing skills – Both written and verbal communication is crucial for producing reports and briefing senior stakeholders, partners agencies and public. Must be able to explain findings in a way that is tailored to the audience. In addition must build productive and positive relationships and be a team player.
