About The Role

Role: Senior Pay and Reward Manager
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid/London, Bristol or Manchester – 2-3 days on site per week
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £350 per day
Security Clearance: BPSS

Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Pay and Reward Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR PAY AND REWARD MANAGER

  • Focus on pay and reward for the Government’s Digital and Data profession of over 25,000 and who work in multiple departments and arm’s length bodies
  • Market pay analysis to inform the drafting of new 2025 business cases on
    • Senior Civil Service roles
    • Cyber roles (now being brought properly into the fold)
    • Current Government Digital and Data roles (updated for 2025 data)
  • Capture and analysis of UK employment practice on bonuses and non-pay benefits to help build a profession-led reward approach for a future business case
  • Reviewing and analysing departments’ business cases to adopt, or extend, the pay framework focusing on
    • Spreadsheet analysis of department’s data, and savings estimates
    • Template completion
    • Advising and supporting Depts Implementation preparation
    • Advising and supporting new adopting Depts on capability assessment
  • Building a library of adopting departments documentation and agreements connected to framework implementation.
  • Support the pay and reward lead as necessary

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR PAY AND REWARD MANAGER

  • Analytical skills, modelling pay data, drawing inferences, testing models
  • Excel skills; including pivot tables, some ‘whatif’
  • Influencing stakeholders via oral and written media
  • Working in a pay and reward role; using market data, helping design pay and benefit practice and addressing challenges relating to pay and reward
  • An understanding of reward tools and practices and evidence of implementation
  • External pay benchmarking & working with data to inform strategy
  • Demonstrable evidence of thinking critically, using analysis and challenging assumptions
