Test Lab Services Lead
Hybrid/Manchester – 2-3 days per week onsite work
£55,594-£61,771 per annum

Spinwell is recruiting for a Test Lab Services Lead for an excellent opportunity within the private sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEST LAB SERVICES LEAD

  • Schedule and coordinate lab support activities, following queries received from programmes, service providers and customers through requests provided via the Lab Impact Assessment form.
  • Operational Oversight – Act as the daily point of contact for all test lab activities. Ensure that the TLO and other providers (e.g., Digital Antenna System and RF Monitoring vendors) are delivering services in line with agreed processes and standards.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of lab operating procedures, service level adherence, and escalation processes. Liaise with the TLO to resolve service issues and drive timely resolutions.
  • Support bilateral meetings with Test Participants to discuss testing progress, blockers, new releases, firmware updates, and client plans.
  • Provide on-site guidance and assistance to internal teams, service providers, and customers using the lab. Conduct lab tours and assist with queries or issues raised during testing activities
  • Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety standards within the lab environment. Coordinate risk assessments and safety measures for visitors, staff, and contractors.
  • Support forecasting of test lab utilisation in line with programme requirements and coordinate scheduling to ensure optimal lab usage.
  • Input into regular weekly reports (e.g. progress updates, testing forecast and risk summaries) for internal and external stakeholders including senior management.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement in collaboration with the TLO and Testing Services. Support the implementation of agreed service enhancements and best practices.
  • Supporting innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement for overall Testing Services.
  • Act as Deputy for the Test Lab Services Manager when required.
  • Support the development and ongoing maintenance of new services integrated into the Testing Service offering.
  • Manage any outward communication to customers and liaise with service providers for technical communication
  • Work closely with client’s Testing and Assurance Practice and Programme Teams to deliver a high-quality lab experience aligned with project timelines and expectations
  • Responsible for effective time management and managing multiple customer queries
  • Supporting change request boards for any upcoming change impacting outages in the lab and managing outward communications

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE TEST LAB SERVICES LEAD

  • Previous experience in a technical operation, service delivery, or test lab support role
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholder groups to ensure the Test Lab Services Team delivers a quality testing service to client Users.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and supporting materials to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work in collaboration with other team members and encourage well-being within the team.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve service to Customers, the test lab and look for cost reduction
  • Familiarity with test lab environments and testing methodologies
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety compliance, or willingness to undertake qualification
  • On-site availability at the Manchester lab for at least 75% of the working week
