Role: Lead Engineer
Contract Length: Until 31/03/2026
Location: Hybrid/Bristol – 2/3 days per week on site

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate

Spinwell is recruiting for a Lead Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LEAD ENGINEER
- Reporting to the OBI Lead & Ch Eng, responsible for the generation and execution of the engineering management plan (aviation aspects) for the delivery of Urgent One Way Effector capability requirements
- Form Technical Requirements and manage the Test, V&V and evaluation process
- Establish engineering roadmap for future phases and Engineering Management Plans
- Assure technical data as provided by Supplier(s), provide advice to Ch Eg/ Chief Technical Officer/ Senior Safety Responsible on matters they are accountable
- Integrate and manage project interests with a wide range of stakeholders, such as Air worthiness authorities & Heads of Establishments
- Provide assurance that Supplier tests are safe and IAW with local process, and aviation regulations
- Identify and analyse technical hazards, contribute to the development of safety artefacts as required to enable testing
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE LEAD ENGINEER
- Engineering manager with experience managing development and integration of novel systems
- Experience of complex weapons development and testing programmes
- Familiarity of aviation regulations and experience working with regulators
- Experience with Test, Trails and Experimentation programmes
- Management of development and integration of novel systems
