Role: Service Coordinator (Plastics Department)
Contract Length: Until the end of March but could continue into April/May

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £25.78 per hour
Spinwell is recruiting for a Service Coordinator for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SERVICE COORDINATOR
- Provide strong operational management and leadership to the Business Unit on a day to day basis, developing and managing high quality, responsive and efficient services, in line with the Business Unit and Trust Strategic Direction.
- Manage administrative staff within the Business Unit, encouraging team working and sharing of good practice.
- Work closely with consultant, nursing and support staff who contribute to the activity of the Business Unit, encouraging multi-disciplinary or ‘triumvirate’ working where possible.
- Manage human and financial resources to help deliver local and national performance targets and other national standards
- Daily management of theatre, and clinic utilisation and productivity.
- Ensure outpatient and theatre resources are used efficiently/productively.
- Delivery of national constitutional standards, inclusive of Cancer and RTT.
- Support with compliance regime in Trust (inclusive of high quality and timely resolution of incidents, complaints, risks and derogations from CQC/regulatory standards).
- Support adequate flow through clinical areas, working collaboratively with clinical staff in order to achieve this.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SERVICE COORDINATOR
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience
- Post graduate training course in management or equivalent
- Demonstrable operational experience within a Healthcare environment
- Experience of managing clinical and/or administrative staff in a Healthcare environment and/or management experience in a Healthcare setting
- Managing and supervising staff
- Dealing with people at various levels within an organisation including senior management level
- Identifying service improvement and developing proposals
- Detailed knowledge of National targets such as RTT18 and cancer pathways
- Recruitment and retention strategies
- Customer care principles and practice
- Benchmarking tools and techniques
- Staff motivation and team building
- Stress awareness and strategies to deal with stress
- Health and safety issues
- Knowledge of Healthcare IT processes and systems
- Knowledge of waiting list management
- Ability to work with software packages such as Excel and Work at advanced level
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills requiring tact and diplomacy
- Persuasiveness and motivational skills
- Ability to use complex IT systems
- Positive, confident and articulate
- Approachable and assertive whilst maintaining tact and sensitivity
- Innovative, proactive and enthusiastic
