Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

  • Establish a vision and strategy to positively direct a team in the achievement of common goals and overall organisational objectives and benefits.
  • Accountable for ensuring the safe delivery of a project to time, cost and quality with responsibility for leading the project to a successful conclusion.
  • Take personal responsibility for the consistent application and standards of project procedures.
  • Provide leadership, management, and governance to ensure projects meet specified requirements.
  • Delivery of projects and programmes within a contractual framework operating with processes to ensure legal and contractual compliance in conjunction with the responsible Commercial Manager.
  • Establish and verify delivery programme baselines and operate project control processes (requirements capture, planning, cost, risk, trend analysis and change control).
  • Through stakeholder analysis effectively identify and actively manage stakeholders consistent with the overall strategy of the business and delivery of component programmes and projects.
  • Proactively work to prevent adverse impacts on delivery through management of risks and project interdependencies. This includes development of a project risks and opportunities plan and instigates mitigation measures or other appropriate actions.
  • Able to identify, define and manage change at an organisational level through the delivery of projects and work packages.
  • Provides project performance data (i.e. critical path analysis, float erosion, milestones, CPI, SPI and EVA) to the Programme Delivery Manager.
  • Lead CDM activities for the project in accordance with the Health, Safety and Environment process.

  • Take collaborative responsibility for ensuring the safe delivery of a project to time, cost and quality with responsibility for leading the project to a successful conclusion
  • Take personal responsibility for the consistent application and standards of project procedures for performance of administrative, project and design in accordance with PD25 Project Management Process and Procedure
  • Provide leadership, management and governance to ensure projects meet specified requirements
  • Actively promote environmental awareness/considerations and sustainability through the project delivery cycle
  • Assist the Programme Manager and Programme Director in discharging his or her strategic and capability development responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Programme Delivery Manager as required
  • Leading the project for the Project Engineer role – schedule, cost, prepare and sanction of the relevant paperwork for the funding through the business – accountability for the project

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

  • Educated to Degree level / holds professional qualification in a relevant discipline (essential).
  • A recognised project management professional qualification e.g., APM PMQ Project Management Qualification etc. (essential).
  • Experience of delivering major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in a highly regulated industry from concept to completion – applications are welcomed from candidates in and outside of the nuclear industry (essential).
  • Safety Leadership qualification, e.g., SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent (desirable).
  • Full working knowledge and experience of implementing CDM regulations (desirable).
  • Proactive communicator both internally and externally to the project (essential).
  • Customer focused with ability to develop and maintain positive and interactive project relationships (essential).
