Pay Rate to Intermediary: £400 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a Commercial Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL OFFICER

  • Implement initiatives to retain and grow spend through Commercial Agreements, drive value, improve service quality and deliver commercial benefits (savings).
  • Understand the customer business needs and intent and determine how and where the client product portfolio may support their business - in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Create clear and compelling cases for customers to adopt our Commercial Agreements and the associated value delivered to them.
  • Execute engagement plans for communications with current and new customers to establish and enact retention and growth of spend through Commercial Agreements - in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Manage commercial agreements through all stages of their life cycle; from launch through to expiry and/or replacement.
  • Manage/support the delivery of procurement/sourcing projects to quality and time, including, the preparation and delivery of supplier and customer meetings, dealing with day to day supplier and customer enquiries, maintenance of various performance logs, and risk management.
  • Supplier Management, including the development of supplier plans for growth, conducting supplier reviews of sales and compliance to the Terms and Conditions and Key Performance Indicators, cost reduction, risk management and timely provision of management information.
  • Work with suppliers, customers and colleagues to identify, implement and report on commercial benefits (savings).
  • Support the preparation of documents (e.g. specifications, award criteria, pricing models) for colleagues to go to market for new/renewed Commercial Agreements.
  • Develop a good knowledge of Commercial Agreements, sufficient to act as a source of insight and advice.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMERCIAL OFFICER

  • Be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and make informed commercial decisions
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead on supplier and customer activities across the category, providing commercial support, advice and challenge
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of category management, developing and maintaining robust category strategies and robust commercial agreement management
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to work proactively and collaboratively, in partnership with key stakeholders, leading, motivating, influencing and persuading both internal and external drive innovation and value for money solutions whilst developing customers commercial capabilities.
  • Understanding of NEC Contracts
