Role: TECHNICAL ANALYST – COMMODITY TRADING (FUTURES, OPTIONS & DERIVATIVES)

Position Summary
We are hiring an experienced Technical Analyst – Commodity Trading to support trading, hedging, and risk strategies for this established commodity trading organisation. The role covers technical analysis, chart pattern analysis, trading strategy development, and market research across futures, options, and derivatives in global commodity markets, including edible oils, agricultural commodities, and metals. Ideal for a data-driven analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, agile trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Market Analysis
- Perform technical analysis using chart patterns, trend lines, support/resistance, and breakout/breakdown levels to identify trading opportunities.
- Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly technical market reports and commentary.
- Monitor live markets, price volatility, and unusual price movements across commodity futures exchanges (CME, CBOT, ICE, Bursa Malaysia, LME).
Trading Strategy & Risk Support
- Provide trade recommendations, entry/exit levels, and stop-loss guidance based on technical indicators.
- Develop and back-test trading strategies using historical price data and market models.
- Support risk management with hedge strategies using futures and options, and monitor volatility affecting open positions.
Research, Reporting & Data Analysis
- Present technical market outlooks and dashboards to traders and management.
- Conduct post-trade analysis and maintain technical trading databases.
- Identify seasonal trends and recurring patterns using historical commodity price data.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commodities, or related field (CMT or equivalent technical analysis certification a plus).
- 5–10 years' experience as a Technical Analyst in commodity trading, futures markets, or derivatives trading.
- Strong track record in trading strategy development, back-testing, and technical market research.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Derivatives & Futures Knowledge: futures contracts, options, hedging strategies, spread trading, margin, contract specifications.
- Commodities Expertise: Palm Oil, Soybean Oil, Sunflower Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Corn, Wheat, Sugar, Metals (Copper, Aluminium, Gold, Silver).
- Proficiency in technical analysis and charting platforms, with strong knowledge of global futures exchanges.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and report-writing skills; ability to work under pressure in a live trading environment.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with traders, risk teams, and senior management.
