Role: Assistant Commercial Manager
Contract Length: Until December 2026 with likely extension
Location: Hybrid/Stratford – 2 days in office per week (Thursday is a preferred office day)

Pay Rate to Intermediary: £361.17 – £400 per day
Spinwell is recruiting for an Assistant Commercial Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT COMMERCIAL MANAGER
- Manage and assess contractor and subcontractor variations.
- Review and administer compensation events under NEC3 contracts.
- Support contract administration activities across the project.
- Attend and contribute to regular commercial meetings with contractors.
- Participate in internal commercial reviews and programme discussions.
- Review programme submissions and contribute to programme narratives.
- Assist with application assessments and ensure claims align with contract rates, forecasts, and actual works completed.
- Support Commercial Managers by taking ownership of day-to-day commercial activities
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSISTANT COMMERCIAL MANAGER
- NEC3 Contract Experience: Strong understanding and practical experience working with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3.
- Commercial Management Experience: Experience managing variations, compensation events, claims assessment, contract administration, and contractor relationships.
- Infrastructure / Rail Sector Experience:Previous experience within rail or major infrastructure projects such as TfL, Network Rail, HS2, Crossrail, or similar large-scale programmes
