Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst for an excellent opportunity within the private sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR COMMERCIAL FINANCE ANALYST
- Commercial Finance analyst will lead consolidating the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts for the C&SM, working with the business and commercial finance teams in each of the individual functional areas to build coherence to story-telling.
- Own the production and review of the month end financial reporting pack for C&SM business unit, including resource management, holding individual functions accountable to committed plans, and inputting financials into performance scorecards.
- Work mutli-dimensionally understanding costs from both a cost centre hierarchy, as well as service family perspective.
- Maintain and where appropriate develop a robust monthly process for tracking risks, issues and opportunities for the C&SM business unit and individual function areas, bringing risk & compliance to the forefront of management discussions.
- Enhance the process for validating efficiencies in the C&SM business unit, making the tracking towards target slick and aligned across the business and finance.
- Work cross-functionally providing inputs into strategy and business cases across client services, interfacing with client wide governance.
- Lead the end-to-end month end cycle for C&SM cost centres, including: ensuring the accuracy of general ledger transactions & journal posting if required; insightful and accurate variance analysis; and production of monthly reporting packs.
- Identify and drive improvements in financial processes, business analysis and reporting
- Ensure we continually deliver value for money and remain within the cost envelope approved by the Regulator
- Other ad hoc requirements as required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR COMMERCIAL FINANCE ANALYST
- Strong analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving
- High attention to detail, with a strong quality and control orientation
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, concise insight
- Confident and effective stakeholder management, including non financial and demanding stakeholders
- Strong relationship building and collaboration skills
- Demonstrates initiative, ownership and accountability, seeing issues through to completion
- Resilient and adaptable when working to tight deadlines
- Comfortable working within a complex, matrix organisational structure
- Financial Planning and Forecasting cycles
- Performance analysis and identification of key value drivers
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Design, build and management of financial models
- Understanding Financial Governance and controls.
- Financial risk and opportunity analysis
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
- Telecommunications or energy sector experience is desirable.
- Regulatory experience with an understanding of specific financial aspects of regulatory compliance requirements is also desirable.
